Hi all,
I firstly thank you for all your help and generous donations towards this campaign. I have now closed the link for donations and we are now distributing the donations to those in need of it the most. For your peace of mind, please note the following.
Following the recent Earthquake in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir many thousands of people were injured and houses, roads and bridges were destroyed. This means that many individuals could not access healthcare. These issues were instantly acted upon by the State of Azad Kashmir. However, as a result of the earthquakes as well as after shocks, many houses collapsed. My aim for creating the Go Fund Me campaign was to raise as much money as possible to help these individuals rebuild their homes especially as the cold weather is before us and secondly to provide them with essential food packages.
In my village back home in Pakistan, many homes have collpased and the homes of those of the surrounding regions and villages. Thus, I am first hand aware of the level of damage suffered. The beneficiaries of these donations will be those who's homes have collapsed and who do not have the financial means to repair them.
I also I will be drawing the money in my personal name to my personal bank account with Barclays Bank. The funds will be delivered by cash to avoid any extra charges such as bank transfer or money transfer charges. The current exchange rate in Pakistan is 197.7 PKR for 1 GBP. This is a high exchange rate and due to the amount of money, I intend to exchange it in Pakistani Rupees so the beneficiaries can benefit 100% from the donations.
I am due to post pictures as soon as the work is carried out.
