Most of our students are somewhere on the Autistic Spectrum and I am aiming to develop an outdoor sensory area. A sensory garden can be a powerful healing place where students can be away from the constant over-stimulation of the 24/7 modern world and just be. Spending time outdoors enjoying a connection with nature would offer the potential to empower our students and build confidence that will flow into other areas of their lives.
