Elrod Family Faces Hardship: Your Help Counts
Donation protected
In January of this year, I, Adam Elrod, a 25U in the Army, was electrocuted during a routine duty assignment. The incident resulted in significant injuries, and as a result, I’m in the process of being medically boarded for discharge. This process will leave me without pay for 45 days, putting me in a precarious financial situation. Without income during this time, I’m at risk of losing everything, including my home, and could potentially end up homeless. The stress and uncertainty of the situation are compounded by the responsibility of supporting my family, especially with the mounting medical and living expenses.
My wife, Kelly Elrod, is the sole caregiver for our three children—Damien, who is 10 and autistic, Ava-May, who is 3 and autistic, and Folke, who is 1. Additionally, Kelly is also responsible for her mother, Brenda Heston, who is disabled. With my injury preventing me from working, Kelly has been shouldering all the burdens of caregiving and managing our household. The strain is immense, and without immediate support, the stability of our family is in jeopardy.
