On the first day of her junior year, Elizabeth "E" started feeling pretty weak and it became difficult for her to breath or stand. She became wrenched in sweat and her heart rate jumped to 240. E was rushed to the hospital and spent a week in the ICU.
This wasn't the first time that E had an episode like this. During swimming practice and meets, she would be out of breath and become really weak. For a while, doctors believed she had a mild case of asthma. After being rushed to the hospital, E was eventually diagnosed with CPVT. It is a rare inherited heart rhythm disturbance found in young people and children. Unfortunely, doctors are now unsure if this is the correct diagnosis. They are working to diagnose her correctly. She has been admitted back into the ICU again this past week because she started having episodes again and irregular heart beats. Doctors have said she was very close to dying. She was just recently put on a ventalator for two days and is finally starting to feel better but still having episodes.
Due to being so sick, she has unfortunely given up her passion of swimming because her heart is too weak to handle the pressure. If you know E, you know she loves school and against her own wishes, she has also missed out on most of her junior year and hasn't been able to drive much since just getting her license in June.
I'm starting this Go Fund Me to help my parents with the medical expenses that they are now facing. Every dollar will go towards paying for E's hospital visits, medicines and operations. My little sister is such a strong person and we all know she can get through this but I would really like to take some of the pressure off of my parents.
Any way that you can help, through money and or prayer will be recieved with graditide and love. Thank you!!
