Over decades, the Silva family have built Maz Mezcal into an Upper East Side institution - welcoming diners, donating to local schools, providing food during the Covid crisis, and supporting their community in every way. Now they need our help to fund a move to a new location and support the many generations of employees they call family.

I have grown up with Maz Mezcal - delicious food, potent drinks, and an atmosphere and staff that always make me feel at home. All of my special occasions were celebrated at Maz, and now my children celebrate their milestones there. It’s just that kind of place - where traditions are established and continued year over year with warmth and love. My son’s first birthday party was in the back room of the restaurant. Recently, he came home for his first Fall Break from college and went straight from the train station to Maz Mezcal, where Maria greeted him with open arms, a hug, and a fresh plate of Nachos Combinados. I know I am not the only one with memories and stories like these. Countless families and friends have celebrated and enjoyed within Maz’s warm walls.

As the Maz Mezcal family navigates a major move to a new location, I would like to return the kindness they have bestowed on my family and our community and support them to create a new space to make new memories. Let’s show the Maz Mezcal family just how big their village is - every little bit helps!

I am a personal friend of the owner of Maz Mezcal. They are a Resturante that is moving to a new space after 30 years in a space across the street from me. This fundraiser is allowing them to stay in business and support many families that work there.
