Dear Friends, Family and Fellow Christians,
My brother Bob Edwards, his wife Angela and their family are in need of help. Bob is a self-employed contractor & carpenter with a stay at home wife and their six children ranging from the age of two to nineteen, with one child in early childhood special needs education.
Over the course of the last year Bob and Angela have had tremendous hardship. In March of 2016 my brother Bob suffered a Pancreatitis attack, leading to 8 days in the hospital with a loss of work for approximately three weeks, and a drastic lifestyle change with permanent ongoing health issues. In June of 2016 Bob’s wife Angela was diagnosed with stage 1 Cervical Cancer which hospitalized her for surgery to remove the cancerous tumor and then months of radiation treatments, doctor visits, and testing. Angela’s recovery from surgery was 6 weeks, which again led to a loss of Bob’s work to stay home to care for their children and household responsibilities. Angela continues to follow up with doctor appointments with her Oncologist, External Radiation Oncologist, and Internal Radiation Oncologist, along with monitored medical testing.
February 1st of this year Bob suffered excruciating pain in his right leg which led to the discovery of a substantial blood clot caused by a Popliteal Aneurysm in the main artery behind his right knee. On February 3rd Bob endured a six hour vascular bypass surgery harvesting a vain from his groin and grafting a vascular bypass to replace the Aneurysm that was causing the clots. Bob’s recovery time for this surgery is five to eight weeks during which time he will not be able to work at full capacity. The Surgeon explained that with Bob’s medical condition, having a grafted vein in his knee he will have restricted ability to bend or work on his knees or endure lifting heavy materials for quite some time.
Their financial obligations have been maxed to accommodate expenses incurred with both past and current medical expenses. All of these issues have created medical bills, loss of work and extensive financial challenges for their family. Bob’s job is the only source of support. I’m sure you can imagine, all of these medical issues have created a very large financial need and much anxiety for them.
We are reaching out to our community of relatives, friends and neighbors to help offset the loss of work, the cost associated with treatments, costly medications and doctor’s visits which greatly exceed their financial ability. At this time of profound need, please help us reach out and support my brother and his family, with your prayers and any financial contributions.
