De Soto Library Eclipse Park
Donation protected
This project is a donor-only, community based project. We are asking local businesses and citizens to donate...but we won't turn anyone else away. This is an ongoing project and is subject to be modified.
The "Eclipse Park" (unofficial name) will be located on the South side of the De Soto Public Library. We want it to be a place where anyone can come and learn about De Soto's rich history. We plan to install a sundial, an eclipse-themed time capsule, fruit-bearing trees and vines, and concrete benches.
Groundbreaking for the park was July 24th.
The main reason we are starting this is because concrete with labor is expensive and we do not have a donor. Other miscellaneous costs include a wooden terrace for grapes and blackberries, stump grinding, tuck pointing, general labor, commemorative park sign, trash cans, etc.
The De Soto Public Library and the community of De Soto are extremely appreciative of any donation made to our cause,
