Help a Jamaican family rebuild after hurricane Melissa

My name is Jen, I’m from Mt Brydges, Ontario Canada. Over the past 15 years, my husband and I have spent time in Jamaica and have been lucky enough to form some true friendships with many of the Jamaican people. One family in particular that has become like family to us — they attended our wedding, we’ve watched their children and grandchildren grow, and they’ve watched ours.
Today, they are facing unimaginable loss. Hurricane Melissa completely devastated their town — their home and everything they owned has been destroyed. They have literally lost everything.
We are heartbroken for them and want to do everything we can to help them start rebuilding their lives.
We’ve created this GoFundMe to:
• Send financial support directly to the family to help with immediate needs like food, clothing, and shelter
• Purchase and ship essential supplies in a barrel being sent to Jamaica
Thankfully, Jamaican Customs has waived all duties and taxes until November 28th, which means we can send much-needed items without extra costs — but we need your help to make it happen.
Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward helping this beautiful family get back on their feet. If you’re not able to donate, please consider sharing this page to help spread the word.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for your kindness, generosity, and compassion. Your support means more than words can express.
