Easing the Burden: Farewell to Wendell Richardson
Donation protected
October 18th is a day I will never forget. It is the day my family lost our Angel. My father, Wendell Richardson, was the rock of our family…our foundation. Being born legally blind, my father pushed me to excel in life and in work. All of my life, he provided me with unconditional love and support. We were as close as any father and daughter could be. When I had my two children, my father became the caregiver for them. He showered them with that same love…making sure my daughter Mariah made it to all of her softball practices. He was her biggest cheerleader at all of her games. I couldn’t have asked for a more loving father and grandfather for my children.
The pain of losing my father is incomprehensible. It is a heartfelt hurt that none of us will ever get over. As we prepare for my father’s funeral, the financial strain has only compounded our grief. We always assumed we would have more time to save…but life decided otherwise. We know and realize times are hard for everyone. We do ask that if you can find it in your heart to help ease the financial burden that we are now facing, it would help our family in ways you can’t imagine. No matter how little or how small, anything would help us to lay my father to rest.
Thank you to all who have reached out, kept my family in your prayers, and loved my father while he was here with us.
