Keep little Xinlei alive

I read this story, and it broke my heart. There was no gofundme or fundraiser for this family, so I have set one up in the hope we can save this little girl and help this family. No one deserves to die, just because they cannot afford the treatment they need... Least of all, a child. I have added the link to the original article.

The parents of the little girl, from Neijiang city, south-west China, are protesting against their harrowing situation.

The tot has thalassemia, a potentially deadly blood disorder, and her parents have spent nearly £11,500 treating her.

Heartbroken Zhang, from Neijiang city, south-west China, dug the grave to protest against the family’s harrowing situation.

He told Pear News: “We borrowed money from many, but they are no longer willing to lend us more.”

Now he brings the two-year-old to play and rest at the grave every day to “familiarise her with her future burial space” so she is not scared when the time comes. He added: “I could only come up with this idea – bringing her to play at this place.

The couple are having another child to get the umbilical cord blood for a transplant to save Xinlei.

However, they realised they couldn’t afford the transplant after Zhang’s wife Deng Min fell pregnant.

She said: “We have been driven into a corner. There is no other option.”

People with thalassaemia produce either no or too little haemoglobin, which is used by red blood cells to carry oxygen around the body. It is treated with regular blood transfusions and medication.

Let's raise the money together to save little Xinlei, it's unfair that she dies because her parents cannot afford it... Let's give her a chance at life. Thank you for reading. X
