Help My Friend Drew Rebuild His Freedom After Van Theft!!

As some of you may remember, back in 2021, Drew was incredibly fortunate to acquire a wheelchair-accessible van thanks to the generosity of family, friends, and supporters through a GoFundMe campaign. That van was truly life-changing — it allowed Drew to travel safely to and from work, connect with his community, and spend quality time with family and friends.

Then, some tough luck hit.

On May 24, 2025, Drew’s van was stolen from the parking lot of his apartment building — taken in the middle of the night. Two weeks later, police located the van in Oliver, BC. Sadly, it had been severely misused and damaged — contaminated with biohazards and deemed unsafe to drive or even sit in.

It was a devastating blow. The van wasn’t just a vehicle; it was Drew’s independence.

But there’s hope.

With persistence and a bit of luck, Drew was able to find a used van — nearly identical to the one he lost, even the same color! ICBC stepped in and covered most of the replacement cost, which was an incredible relief. However, the van still needs specific accessibility modifications to meet Drew’s needs. These adaptations come at a cost of approximately $6,000.

We’re turning to this community once again, hoping to help bridge that final gap so Drew can regain the freedom, independence, and normalcy that the van provides.
