Dreams can come true for those who dare to dream!

Abilities trump disabilities. In 2013, the journey with Rebecca and I began. At 19 years of age, we worked together to improve social/emotional interactions and life enriching skills. Rebecca is an individual with high-functioning autism with many gifts and talents. In particular, she is gifted writer and musical performer. It has been her lifelong dream to become a professional singer and have a career doing just that! In April of this year, the world began to change for Rebecca. Destined to meet another talented performer, Karen Newsum of Huntsville, Alabama a meeting took place to introduce the pair under my direction. Karen and I had once taught together at Highlands Elementary School in northwest Huntsville. Emotionally this experience changed us all.

Karen changed the path and direction of our lives by putting us "in touch" with a masterful vocal coach out of Atlanta, Georgia, the well-known Roger Beale. Rebecca's first performance followed quickly in July as she sang The National Athem at the Rocket City Trash Panda's July 5th, 2023 game. She sang with such confidence and expertise. Singing without accompaniment, Rebecca's voice soared, and the crown was amazed! The look of elation on her face defined that this young lady would fulfill her dreams.
