Five years ago I started mapping skateparks in Portugal . Today trucksandfins is the largest free skatepark and pumptrack directory on the planet — 26,048 parks, millions of users, zero corporate backing.
I've spent over €60,000 of my own savings to keep it free. I recently started working in a call center to pay the bills and keep the servers running.
Last week a BMXer donated €623 — money he earned helping build a DIY park and didn't want to keep. That put tears in my eyes. And it made me stop waiting for the industry to save this and ask the community instead. Help us build V2. Keep it free. Forever.
