Don’t be wary Barry- Barry’s Fight Against Cancer

As some of you know, Barry hasn't been feeling well for about a little over a month now. With a stint in the hospital back in late July, he continued to deal with not feeling well and lots of pain.

On Monday, August 23rd, he went back to Sanford USD Medical Center and Hospital in Sioux Falls with excruciating pain. Tuesday, they performed a biopsy of his liver, and results came back Wednesday. Barry has been diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). His care team, which includes doctors from around the United States, have agreed all treatment can be done in Sioux Falls.

He will be coming home today for a short stay. The care team has decided he will be having surgery on September 9th, followed by chemotherapy and radiation.

Lori is holding up, traveling back and forth daily so she can be home with the girls at night. She is going to be working from home/hospital as much as she can. Lori was very hesitant with me creating this page. Barry and Lori are always the ones wanting to help someone in need, but they aren’t very accepting when it comes to themselves needing a little help.

This GoFundMe page will help with medical and travel expenses to and from Sioux Falls. Let's help this family who would give their shirts off their backs for anyone!

We will also try to post daily on this site to update everyone on any new updates. Lori can then focus on Barry, herself, and the girls (and of course her chickens ).
