My siblings and I have set up this GoFundMe for our 21 year old niece Sofia, our sister Kathy’s oldest daughter. On Saturday September 6th, out of the blue, Sofia began having severe abdominal pain which led to an ER visit and very quickly escalated to an expedited admission to Huntsman’s Cancer Center in Salt Lake City, where she was diagnosed with small cell Neuroendocrine carcinoma stage 4, grade 3. While it has not yet been confirmed, doctors think it may have started in her thymus and has now spread to her liver and beyond. This fundraiser is being set up to help pay for medical costs for treatments that aren’t covered by insurance, to help with travel expenses and lodging for Sofia’s parents since the nearest Cancer center is not in their state and any other expenses that may arise as Sofia and her family fight with everything they have. We all love Sofia so much and do not want financial concerns to impact any treatment options.
