Donate to Ruby's Family for Home and Car Repairs

Hello, my name is Ruby. I have lived in Asheville for most of my life; it is my and my family's safe haven. Hurricane Helene devastated the community I grew up in and love. It also caused significant damage to our home, with the heavy rainfall and flooding causing close to 4 inches of water in our basement. This ruined almost all of the furniture pieces that were stored there, as well as breaking our dehumidifier and damaging our water heater. The wind caused damage to our car, severely weakening the seals and allowing water in.

My father's place of work (picture shown above) is closed indefinitely, meaning our family's only form of income is gone. We were told this morning (10/14/2024) that our request for FEMA aid ($750) has been denied with no explanation besides 'sometimes these things happen.' My family is below the poverty line, and we were counting on this aid to help fix our home. I would usually not ask for financial help, but I am completely stuck on what else I can do. Please donate if you are able, all of the money will be going directly into our home and vehicle to insure they are safe to reside and drive in. I appreciate you all!
