My uncle, Chuck, has spent years doing body work on cars. He’s one of the hardest-working people I know — the kind of guy who always shows up for his family, friends, and community. Since his work is contracted, he only earns when he’s on the job.

Right now, he’s facing a tough situation. He needs hernia surgery, which is thankfully covered by JPS. The challenge is that the surgery is delayed until he gets his blood pressure under control. The hernia has made it impossible to do the tasks at work, and he has been laid off. He will also need several weeks to heal before he can get back to work. With no income coming in and no savings to fall back on, it’s been very stressful just trying to cover rent, basic needs, and bills.

We’re raising $7,200 to help him stay afloat during this time. This will go directly toward:

Rent and utilities while he’s out of work

Gas and basic living expenses

Recovery costs like prescriptions and supplies

A small buffer for unexpected needs during his healing
