My name is Chantelle, and I’m fundraising for my mom, Holly Meints. She was recently diagnosed with late stage 3B rectal cancer. Our family and friends are still in shock, and we’re doing everything we can to make sure she gets the treatment she needs.

Anyone who knows Holly knows that at 5'1" she is a small but mighty woman. She is feisty, funny, and has the biggest heart, always willing to do anything for those she loves. She has had her share of struggles over the years, and this diagnosis has become a huge hurdle for all of us. She has touched so many lives with her charismatic charm, wit, and smile.

She begins treatment in a couple of weeks at the Cross Cancer Institute. We are raising money to assist with accommodations, travel expenses, and food so she can stay nearby while she receives intensive chemo and radiation over the next six or more weeks. Short-term accommodations in Edmonton, even at a discount, are still quite expensive, and she has not been able to work for some time now.

We are raising funds specifically to help with:

Short-term accommodation so she can stay closer to the hospital during treatment

Related travel costs (parking, gas, meals while away from home)

While some of her medical care is covered, the ongoing travel and accommodation costs are not, and they are adding up quickly. Our family is doing our best to cover what we can, but we’ve reached a point where we need to ask for help.
