Donate to help Anirudh’s Family

We have started this fundraiser for our beloved cousin, Anirudh Medapati, whom we lost to suicide on April 1st 2022, 15 days before his 21st birthday. We want to support his loving parents who are devastated by this immeasurable loss. Anirudh was a 3rd year international student of Psychology, at Carleton University, Ottawa. He was a remarkable student and friend who was passionate about education and serving others.

Anirudh was the only son of Mr. Ravigopal and Mrs. Naga Jyothi. They strived to support him in every way they could, including preparing for his move across the world at the tender age of 18. Anirudh and his parents planned for him to work part-time and fund some of his growing expenses. However, the due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he was unable to find any work or visit his family in India. During those years he grew lonely, helpless, and struggled to manage his mental health. Seeing his family give everything to support his education and healthcare burdened him despite kindness and reassurance from others. Nothing seemed to lift his spirits and he lost the fight against his mental health. 

This fundraiser is to support Anirudh’s family, who have not just lost their beloved son, but also spent their life savings to give their child a better tomorrow. We hope that we are able to raise enough to cover some of their debts and living expenses during this extremely trying time.
