I am Priyank Patel a family friend of Mittal, organizing this fundraiser to support Mittal’s family through this unimaginable loss. We cannot replace a mother’s love or erase this family’s pain, but together, we can help ease their burden and keep Mittal’s dream alive for her little girl.

On the night of October 16, Mittal Modi Prajapati tragically lost her life in a devastating two-car accident on Highway 1 near Salmon Arm, British Columbia. Heartbreakingly, it was her birthday. She turned 36 that day—a day that should have been filled with love and happiness instead became a day of unimaginable grief.

Mittal came from a humble, middle-class family in India. She came to Canada in 2024 as a foreign worker, carrying one beautiful dream in her heart: to build a brighter future for her 10-year-old daughter and family back home.

She worked tirelessly, making sacrifices every day for the people she loved. Her employer described her as one of the most hardworking and honest people he had ever known. Behind all her hard work was a mother’s dream—to one day bring her daughter to Canada and give her the opportunities and future she deserved.

Tragically, that dream was taken away far too soon. Her little daughter has lost her mother, her husband has lost his life partner, and her family has lost someone irreplaceable.

We are raising funds to bring Mittal home to India, so her daughter, husband, and loved ones can see her one last time and say their final goodbyes. We also hope to set aside funds toward her daughter’s education and future—a small gift from a mother who spent her life working to give her child the very best.
