In the early morning hours of November 3rd, 2025, my father was involved in a severe semi-truck accident near Cleveland, Ohio. Around 4:00 AM, a wrecker driver and the driver of a disabled semi were attempting to turn the semi around in the middle of the interstate so the wrecker could tow it in reverse. The disabled semi was stretched across both lanes of the eastbound highway, with no lights, hazards, or cones visible to warn oncoming drivers.

As my father approached, he turned on his high beams — only to be met with a wall of metal completely blocking the road. He was hauling nearly 80,000 pounds of freight and did everything he could to avoid the collision, but there was no time or space to stop. The impact caused his truck to burst into flames, and he had to be pulled from the cab by his passenger moments before it was engulfed.

My father has been a professional truck driver for more than 30 years — a hardworking man who has spent his life on the road providing for his family. That night, he lost everything. His truck — his livelihood and his life’s work — was completely destroyed.
