Hello everyone,

This story is about a woman, my grand mother, Rezia Begum.
She was a 5th generation immigrant into Bangladesh. Her birthplace was in Jantrail, in Dhaka Division of the beautiful fertile country of Bangladesh.

She did not have employment. So she saved for her entire life and built this mosque named Jantrail Maddhopara Jame Masjid.

Jantrail Maddhopara Jame Masjid was built and established in 1978 so it is 47 years old.

She also donated land from her personal assets and built a building that holds shops and offices in the town center of Jantrail. She did that because she hoped the Mosque's expenses would be covered from the rent that was earned from the building. That way the mosque did not need to depend on any individual.

However times have changed and Bangladesh has seen rapid inflation of its fiat currency. We are now constantly at a deficit in it's budget. Our family is pooling together donations to make sure the deficit is covered. But we now need external help to keep this God's house going.

Details about the Mosque:
  • This is the central place of worship for the community
  • Approx. 70-100 people are able to attend prayers at one time
  • The mosque helps people stay integrated in the community
  • Acts as a central community center where people provide mutual assistance during times of personal crisis

Why you should donate to this Mosque:
  • Donating to a Mosque is Sadaqah Jariyah. Meaning your reward continues as long as people benefit from the mosque and its services. Even if that means you are no longer in this world.
  • You are going to help a community of under privileged people in an under developed country by keeping them grounded in faith, guidance, and good moral values.
  • You are going to encourage the orphans who memorize the Quran and contribute to their livelihood. This will help keep the Word of God alive in the most remote places of the world.
  • Non-Muslims are also encouraged to donate to support a struggling community. This will help infuse fresh capital into the local economy and will alleviate pressures of migrating to developed countries where there is already huge pressure of immigration. No matter what religion you are from, you can never go wrong by supporting a House of God.
  • Why not use a part of your Sadaqa to support a House of God?

How do we plan on using the donation:
  • We have some repair work that needs to be done to the building.
  • We are looking to expand the ablution area and the toilets to accommodate the growing population of the community.
  • We are looking to close the deficit gap of our annual budget and be able to pay the Imam a bonus for his services.
  • We are also wanting to decorate the landscape around the mosque.
  • If possible, we want to expand the Mosque to help accommodate more-people during the Jummah (Friday) prayers because right now the Mosque is at capacity during Fridays.

All of your donations will be strictly used for the purpose of this Mosque.
You will be provided with a receipt and telephone number of the members of the committee.

Thank you for your generous contribution to a House of God!
