Displaced by Sonoma Wildfires
Just arrived at my brother in law’s in NV. Wildfire devoured our neighborhood. Our Santa Rosa home is just cinders. Will find out more soon.
We were told to evacuate at 1:30am by cops pounding on the door, saying go go go. The air was filled with smoke and particles, and the orange glow approached with winds reaching 70mph. In daylight we tried to approach the house from 3 different sides. We were allowed no closer than 1/3 mile and we were told by police that very tall flames consumed our tiny neighborhood.
We have the clothes we wore, and our dog. We ate Red Cross sandwiches and coffee during the night, and became sickened by the heavy smoke and ash. More info to follow as it develops, but basically we were wiped out of all furniture, clothing, housing, home office, important papers......everything. We need to relocate, and refurnish.
My wife has multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer) and the expensive supplements prescribed by MDs but not covered by insurance also perishied in the flames. Our needs are immediate.
If you have read this far, thank you. Please share this link with ANYONE and EVERYONE you know. I am told that is how this most effective.
