Dogs Home Forever is being evicted!
As many of you know, Susan Wiater and I have a nonprofit in Denver, Dogs Home Forever (www.facebook.com/dogshomeforever) which provides free and low-cost training and behavior help to animal shelters, rescues, and low income pet owners. Susan has saved many dogs especially those who were fearful or aggressive, and got them to where they could be adopted into loving homes. Last year she also took over another rescue from the lady who is her current landlord. Susan runs both nonprofits out of the property that she is renting from her landlord, in addition to taking care of the long-term foster dogs from the landlord's rescue. She also lives on the property so she has been taking care of the rescue dogs 24/7.
In early August the landlord suddenly reneged on their agreement and gave Susan a notice to vacate by the end of August. It was a complete blindside.
We are therefore trying to raise money to offset the costs of the following:
1) Finding a new place for Susan to live and from which to run both nonprofits
2) boarding kennel fees for the rescue dogs until a new suitable property that can house them again is found
3) Legal advice
4) Putting the rescues' equipment and items into storage until a new suitable property is found
5) Moving costs
We appreciate any and all donations to help Susan through this housing emergency!
