Documentary Interview Trip
Donation protected
Hello my name is Ayannah Settle! My co director Gillian McFerren and I need your help! We are high school students directing a documentary titled The "In" Word.
The “In” Word documentary explores how the commonplace use of the n-word blurs the line between its denotative and connotative meaning. The film analyzes if the casual use of the term in hip-hop/rap/pop music--which is highly financed by suburban teenagers--has been appropriated along with other aspects of black culture. Can the etymology of the n-word move from a history of pain to an accepted form of artistic expression?
This documentary is meant to spark a much needed disscusion. We've been featured in The Signal check out the story here: http://www.signalscv.com/2016/11/18/valencia-high-school-students-explore-use-n-word-popular-culture-original-documentary/
In order to produce this documentary we need funds to travel out of state to interview various people. A donation of any amount is greatly appreciated. We thank you in advance for your support.
