We don't really have a clue how much he will really need, as yesterday was only the 1st day in the hospital and the 1st surgery. He will need specialized equipment & supplies at the house to maintain the artificial airway that they needed to place so he can breathe. The tumor grew so much that it nearly completed cut off his ability to eat & breathe. The next surgery will be to place a feeding tube, which will require special "food". He's already lost over 40 lbs - just since November. None of his old clothes fit anymore. He's been too weak to work since mid-December, plus the winds, sawdust, and fumes are sometimes too much for his throat. There's also constant blood-loss. He has yet to begin chemo & radiation and all that that will entail. Not sure about the chemo schedule, but radiation will be back & forth every day. He's also started getting IV treatments to combat the dehydration and replace valuable vitamins & nutrients, but those cost nearly $200 each.
