Austin is the sweetest silliest boy who is full of personality! Anyone who knows him just loves and adores him!

Recently, Austin has made us aware of some painful spots in his mouth so we got him on the cancelation list for our local Dentist. We had a checkup and xrays here and they referred us to a specialist in Ottawa called Just 4 Kidz. There, Austin had another checkup with more xrays and a complex dental plan drawn up. Austin needs to be sedated to have work done on 16 teeth in his little mouth, including root repair and an extraction. Austin has a hereditary condition called hypoplasia which is a developmental condition where the hard outer enamel of a tooth forms thinner, weaker, or partially missing. Because this outer armor is compromised before the teeth even break through the gums, it leaves the softer inner layers exposed, increasing the risk of cavities and sensitivity.

The total cost of the treatment is an amount that is beyond what our family can afford at this time. While both of us have benefits through our workplaces, they have a maximum which barely touches the total procedure, not to mention that number will increase if they get in there and he needs more work.

Without this particular treatment, Austin might experience persistent discomfort, infections, challenges with eating, and various other health issues. As parents, it is truly distressing to witness our child in pain and to realize that he requires care that we are finding difficult to finance. Austin has a scheduled appointment for his dental surgery this November and we are hoping to raise enough to cover loss of wages for the time we are taking for appointments and the surgery date.
