Hello, my name is Rana Alrayes, I live in the US, but my family origins are from Gaza. In fact, the two families of interest in this GoFundMe are relatives of mine that I, and my family, are desperate to bring to safety. As many know, the current war in Gaza has caused great devastation, forcing thousands of families (1.7 million people and half of them children, according to UNICEF) to flee their homes, and creating one of the greatest humanitarian crises of modern times. Those who can, are looking for ways to seek refuge in a new country, in this case Egypt for the Al-Rayes and Al-Khodary families.

The Al-Rayes family consists of Yehya (7, son), Habiba ( 10, daughter), Heba (37, mother), and Feras (38, father). The Al-Khodary family consists of 5 boys Maher (12), Makram (9), Majd (7), Rakan, (4) Yacoub (3), the mother Mona (35), and the father Mohammed (37) Al-khodary. Both of theses families homes were destroyed in the recent conflict, and both food and shelter are scarce, so the thought of staying in Gaza is essentially hopeless.

Please note: Money from This GoFundMe is to be collected then sent to a family member in Egypt, who will file for the El-Khodary and El-Rayes family members abilities to pass through the Rafah border, through a broker (Hala) in Egypt. This broker facilitates travel between Egypt and Palestine, extending travel visas and residency documents to cross the border. Charges for each person start at $2,500 per child and $5,000 per adult. Remaining funds will be used for the families to find shelter, buy food and water in Egypt, and try to start a new life in Egypt.
