Dawson Howard Memorial Services
Donation protected
Hello friends. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Nicole. Stacie Howard is my best friend and has been like a sister to me for nearly 30 years.
As many of you know, Stacie and Tommy Howard lost their oldest son on August 1st.
Dawson Howard was such a kind, sweet, and funny person. He had recently moved out on his own from the Seattle area and went through some rough patches on his way to independence. He was living in Lewiston, ID and looking into joining the army to create a sense of direction, and it seemed he had been feeling better. He was only 20 years old when he ended his life. He was so deeply loved but could not see this in his brief moment of crisis.
Dawson's passing has been a devastating shock for everyone, especially to his parents and his two younger brothers, Andrais and Peyton. No one was prepared for this.
His death comes only shortly after the sudden and unexpected loss of Stacie's mother, Roberta Comstock, less than a year ago.
The financial burden of funeral planning, arrangements, and bringing Dawson back home is creating so much additional suffering to the Howard family. I cannot remove any of their pain, but if I can help ease their suffering, even somewhat, to allow them space to grieve and heal, I feel like I will have honored my role as Dawson's godmother to the best of my ability. This is why I created this fundraiser.
All donations provided here will help Stacie and Tommy to bring Dawson back home from Idaho to Spokane, pay for cremation services, and hold a memorial service to acknowledge and celebrate his young life. This will also help them to stay afloat, as they will need to take significant (unpaid) leave from work to make arrangements, grieve, and provide as much stability and security as possible for Andrais and Peyton. Stacie and Tommy currently live in the Seattle area and will be needing to make regular trips to Spokane during this time as well.
With great humility and appreciation, I thank you for reading this far and for considering a contribution. Details about memorial services will be forthcoming.
Stacie, Tommy, and I would also like to take this moment to remind you that if you or someone you love is struggling with depression or thoughts of suicide, please reach out for help. The National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 by dialing 9-8-8.
You are loved. You matter.
