Daniel Carmichael's Memorial and Afterlife Care GoFundMe

Hello, I am Cole Carmichael, Danny's oldest son. Many of you may know me and some of you may not. Along with my sister Robin Carmichael-Villa, we are both currently reeling from my father's untimely passing. This unfortunately is the 3rd death of an immediate family member for us in 6 years. We are exhausted, confused, and uncertain about what the future holds for us now that we have lost both parents and a brother. Robin and I have had to take the brunt of these deaths head-on and sort our way through the fallout. Sadly, our parents did not have plans for after they were gone. Many of those who know us, know we lost our mother's home after her passing in 2021 due to the lack of these plans. While we worked to make sure that we would be better prepared for my father's passing, there was no life insurance set up and we are going to have to again face this financial hit. This is extra tough this year because we are still dealing with the financial fallout of the previous two situations, it's the holidays, and many things that I will list below will need to be addressed. I am taking time off work for bereavement, as is Robin. Robin recently came back to work from her maternity leave, which ended October 1st, for her newborn son Joaquin. Robin is a practicing therapist and is paid a commission, so there is no income when not working. As for me, I work a full-time job but wasn't expecting to have to take on this type of financial hit at this time. To top it all off, it is during the holidays, which is adding an extra mental strain to all of this.

We are asking for assistance to help pay for cremation costs for my father and help set up his celebration of life that we are going to hold in January on or before his birthday on January 23rd (the date of the event isn't determined as of yet). In addition to the costs of the celebration of life, so my dad can have a wonderful send-off as he touched the hearts of thousands of people through his music, personality, and presence. My dad owed $4,100 in back taxes to Sumner County on his home and we do not want to lose this property as it was our grandmother's home, the home he and his siblings grew up in, and holds a special place in our family's heart. The home needs to be seriously cleaned up and this will require some money to be accomplished for equipment and haul-away. To be blunt, the home is a mess and any donation received will go a long way in restoring the house and property to be fit for living again. Finally, anything left over will go to me and Robin as we both have accrued several personal debts over the past 6 years helping pay for funerals, housing needs, and medical debts. In short, we need your help this holiday season. We have deeply appreciated all the assistance we have received from many of you previously and that has gone a long way to help keep us afloat.

For those of you who know me and Robin, we do not ask for handouts lightly. We've worked very hard to find financial independence for ourselves. However, this is the 3rd time in 6 years we have found ourselves in this situation and it has hit us at the worst possible time. I know it is the holidays and money is tight for everyone, given inflation, buying gifts, travel, and paying for dinners, but please, if you can spare anything, it will be gratefully appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this. You may reach out to me via Facebook DMs with any questions about the celebration of life. Once discussed with several parties, we will have a solid date and time hopefully set up within the week. Thank you.
