Damian's funding for Aircon for van
Donation protected
Hello,
I am approaching go fund me to have $2500 donated to have my aircon fixed in my van. It is for my son Damian who is severely disabled. He has a condition called West Syndrome and is a very rare form of epilepsy. He has seizures everyday of his life. He has CP, osteoporosis, scoliosis, precocious puberty since the age of 2, is peg fed for all his nutritional and medical needs. He doesn't walk, talk, smile or even look at us and doesn't maintain good body temperature. He sits in a wheelchair supported and lies in his bed. He needs position changing every 4 hours which is what my husband and I do. We don't put him in respite or have a carer (our decision) and this is why my husband willingly gave up his job to help me. In the summer if he gets overheated he has more seizures that cause him much distress. In order for us to take him to appointments and out in the community we need to keep a cool environment for him. The aircon needs to be fixed and my husband and I are full time carers with no income and cannot afford to do this. He has quite a few appointments coming up that we need to attend and given we are having these hot days in November we don't want to cancel them. We desperately need the aircon in our van fixed soon and don't know of any other potential donors but yourselves to please help us.
