Let’s Help Chris Get Back on his Feet
Donation protected
Chris Condon was recently diagnosed with LADA (Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults) or Type 1.5 diabetes, after some blisters formed from his shoes on his right foot that wouldn’t heal. His foot became infected and swollen. He went to the Dr and had a compete work up as well and blood labs and then was unfortunately diagnosed with diabetes. He was prescribed medicine for his blood sugar and antibiotics for his foot. His sores, or now called “diabetic ulcers”, on his foot were looking better. When he finished the antibiotics up, his foot became worse. On October 2nd, he went right to the emergency room when his foot got super swollen and was turning black around his sores. He was admitted that day and has been in the hospital ever since. The Doctors had to perform a debridement on his foot which is cutting and cleaning the dead, infected tissue. Chris still has to have more procedures to be done to his foot but we aren’t exactly sure what the procedures will consist of at this time. Chris is getting two types of IV antibiotics at this time.
Chris is a personal trainer at the YMCA in Port Charlotte and also does security at The Gasparilla Inn. With him being in the hospital and unable to work, he is losing his pay from both jobs, not to mention his health insurance deductible and hospital bills.
His friends and family would like to help take some of the financial burden off of him. Just having sores so bad that aren’t really healing is enough worry for him. The sores he has are really cut open wide, still infected at this time. Swelling has gone down a little bit as of today. He is loved by many, his clients and co workers, friends and family. He has touched so many lives and now we want to touch his life!
This is going to be a long process for him, as his right foot has a lot of healing to do and he’s not out of the woods yet. This process takes longer and comes along with more risk for recurring infection, having Diabetes.
At this time, nobody is sure when he will be able to get released from the hospital. He is going to be having a MRI hopefully sooner than later while he is still admitted , to make sure the infection didn’t spread to the bone. If you are in the position to donate, we’d really appreciate that and if not, sharing is caring.
Thank you,
Friends and Family of Chris
