Help Crystal get a good lawyer to save Kevin

Hi, my name is April and I am trying to raise money for my sister Crystal to help her afford a lawyer. Crystal is a wonderful person with a beautiful soul. For 17 years, she has been an amazing auntie to my three kids. Six years ago, she had her first child Kevin, a precious boy who lit up her world and made her heart grow, as he has done for all of us in the family. Crystal and Kevin’s biological father broke up before she found out about her pregnancy. Even though this man knew about the pregnancy and birth of this beautiful baby, he was never really a part of Kevin’s life, even though Crystal never kept him from him. She encouraged him to visit his son. This man chose to not be a part of Kevin’s life for the first five years. It wasn’t until Crystal moved to Texas to keep her children together after her divorce (she married and had a second child a year and half after Kevin was born), and to be closer to Kevin’s biological father so they would have the opportunity to get to know each other, that this man ever saw Kevin.

Now, a year and half later, this man has decided to fight for full custody of Kevin and the complete removal of Crystal from Kevin’s life. Kevin will not be able to see his mother or his baby brother if this man succeeds in his custody battle. Kevin grew up knowing only his stepfather as “Dad.” When he met his bio dad, he already called somebody else “Dad” his whole life and so he called his bio dad by his first name, because that’s what he was comfortable with. This man has told Kevin that he has to call him Dad, even though he isn’t comfortable with it. This man is accusing Crystal of being an unfit mother and a drug addict, neither of which are true in the least bit.

Crystal is a wonderful, caring, loving mother who has been struggling to make ends meet on her own for her two children. This man has no grounds to try to take Kevin away from his family. Crystal has even asked for joint custody and he isn’t budging.

Crystal and her kids don’t deserve what this man is trying to do to them. I am asking for everybody to give what they can to help her in this situation. The lawyer has asked for $1500 as a down payment, but the total fee she is asking for is $5000. Please consider donating whatever you can to help keep this beautiful family together.
