Cristy's Cancer Fight
Donation protected
If you're reading this, I want to sincerely thank you for taking a minute to read Cristy's story and for your generous support, kind thoughts and compassion.
In June of 2024, at just 37 years old, my sister, Cristy, found a large golf ball size lump in her breast. On October 22nd 2024, after many tests, Cristy was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative invasive carcinoma with neuroendocrine differentiation. This is an extremely aggressive form of genetic cancer (BRCA2 GENE mutation).
Since then, Cristy has been undergoing multiple rounds of chemo, had a port catheter put into her chest, and has lost her hair and strength. A second mass was recently found in her lymph node, which has yet to be confirmed, but is highly suspected that the cancer has spread. She's facing a double mastectomy and a complete hysterectomy, as well as many more weeks of radiation and immunotherapy.
Cristy does not have a vehicle and has been relying on our parents and myslef to get her from Fergus to Kitchener, sometimes multiple times a week, for treatment. The cost of gas and parking is adding up quickly. Cristy is on government disability, which hardly covers bare necessitates. Financially, she is struggling to buy things she needs to make her comfortable. Cristy has a loft style bed that she has had to move the mattress onto the floor because she no longer has the strength to climb up on it. She would benefit from a heating pad and healthy food options to keep her strength up. She often uses food banks and other community resources to get herself through the month. While our parents and myself have helped her with things she has needed as much as we can, we can only do so much. We're reaching out to our family and friends for donations to give Cristy the best fighting chance possible.
Any monetary donations raised, will be in trust by Cristys parents to ensure it is used to make this fight a little easier for her. Thank you again for being here.
Keep fighting Cristy. We love you. Your fight is our fight
