- Budhwar Peth in Pune (Maharashtra) is India’ s third largest red-light area;
- In this area alone over 105 women & children go missing every day and are forced into the sex trade;
- There are over 700 brothels with more than 3,000 women and children forced into the sex trade, they are often trafficked from neighbouring countries such as Nepal and Bangladesh;
- These are just the figures that are reported / we are aware of;
A Bit About Me:
Hi, my name is Shirin, I'm a survivor, recovering addict and most importantly a Child of God.
As a child I spent a lot of time in India. At the age of 8 my heart's desire was to start a charity.
However, over the years my life took a dark turn, until I met my friend, Jesus, who saved me and brought me back into the light. He put in my heart to go back to India, and I went to the red-light district.
While there we prayed with women and explained how God created the world. Of course, we also had lots of fun and laughter along the way.
When I came home I knew that the Lord had more work for me to do in India and so the mission begins... this December 2025 through to January 2026 I will be in Pune visiting the women and children as well as visiting local churches.
I will be supplying the women and children with outreach bags containing things like:
- Toiletries;
- Condoms;
- Food;
- Water;
- Translated Bible Stories;
- Bibles & Toys for the children;
- A Christmas Celebration;
- Offerings to disadvantaged churches to help spread the word;
While there we will be providing a safe place to talk, pray and do Bible Studies. We will find the time to have much needed pampering, fun games and other activities. I will share life experiences with them and provide safe childcare for mothers while they are working.
I will also be visiting local churches, sharing my testimony and doing workshops that will teach the churches how to be more inclusive.
