Craig Mehrer’s COVID Fight and Recovery

Hello, my name is Jennifer Mehrer and as many of you know my dad (Craig Mehrer) has been in the hospital with covid. He was put back on a ventilator yesterday after 3 days off. Yesterday Craig’s CT results showed he had a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) in his other lung and had to have a 2nd chest tube inserted. They also discovered he had a deviated trachea. He has been placed on his stomach for the night to help increase his oxygen levels. Today they found his kidneys are not working properly and his blood pressure has dropped significantly. They might start dialysis tomorrow and he is on medication to bring his blood pressure up. They think he is fighting a bacterial infection and are waiting on results from the culture.

Many of you have probably heard in the past week we have lost my uncle Curtis Mehrer (Craig’s brother) and my grandmother Linda Mehrer (Craig’s mother). My mom is still recovering from COVID pneumonia and neither have been able to work.
