Covering Uninsured Surgery for a Mom, wife, and nurse

When I was 18, I was preparing to spend my first year at college- away from my family and friends . I had not been feeling well and I remember laying down to take a nap. The next thing I remember , I was waking up in an ICU at the hospital… I had fallen into a diabetic coma and remained there for a week. Once I awoke, I sped through recovery and started my new life as a diabetic. Many years later, and many ups and downs, including 3 stents in my cardiac arteries, and loss of vision in my left eye, led me to turning 40 without real direction. I graduated nursing school an accellerated program. I was even the valedictorian! At 42 years old!!! Long story short, all these years of medicines and treatments had left me quite overweight. At 313lbs, I felt like an elephant. I hate looking in the mirror. Or wearing nice clothes. So I set out to change that. In November of 2023, I started on Mounjaro. Slowly working my way up in dosage, the pounds melted away. And my A1C went from nearly 12 to 5.7!!!!! I am down almost 100 lbs. I have a new desire to be better and more active. Unfortunately, with that amount of weight loss, comes extra skin. It doesn’t have the bounce back it used to. Hoping to regain my self esteem, I sought out a plastic surgeon who could help me. Great news! The insurance I have will cover my pannilectomy. However, it will NOT cover the tummy tuck (which is all the extra skin below my boobs, but above my waist) or the mons lift. With a coworker who just had this procedure done (although hers involved a breast lift, which I am not doing) I have figured this whole procedure will cost roughly $8,000.00. Both my husband and I work full time, but we also support (in some way) all of our 8 kids and 8 grandkids. We love them and wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m asking for just a little extra help, whatever you are able to give , to help another human feel… well, human again. Thank you for taking the time to read my loooong story.
