Help Corn Productions Continue to Create and Grow

Corn Productions has been around for over 30 years, and for the past 23 years, we have had a wonderful home at Cornservatory, 4210 N Lincoln Ave. As you may know, the theatre community at large was greatly impacted by the pandemic and a lot of places have struggled to stay open as audiences start to return to the theatre. Corn Productions is one of those places.

We have been lucky enough to receive support from everyone in the community while we had to close our doors in 2020. From government assistance to small online donations to grants, and even our landlord, we are grateful that we were able to continue operations once we could invite audiences back into our space. Even with all of the help we received, we have barely been making it by over the past few years, and now we need your help.

In order to continue to make new and exciting theatre we are looking for a little extra boost from our supporters. This will allow us to get up-to-date on our rent and propel us into 2024 when we plan on bringing even more new works to our stage. 100% of the funds raised here will go to keeping our space ours, and allow us to continue to build up new voices in the Chicago Theatre Community.

In 2023 we produced two brand-new plays along with several new sketch shows. We brought back our long dormant theatre for young audiences program with Pie-Tanic in the Spring and Graveyard Ghost this fall. We welcomed dozens of new artists into the space and even opened up our doors to Playground Theater for their improv workshops and shows.

In 2024, we plan on doing more. From Improv Gladiators, an improv competition allowing new teams in Chicago to secure their very own show at Cornservatory, to full-length plays, new children's theatre productions, and of course our mainstay sketch comedy shows including Happy Holly-Daze, Death Toll, and DRINK! The Sketch Comedy Drinking Game Show. We will be bringing in more and more writers and actors and directors to remove the barriers of producing theatre in Chicago by giving them a space to create their art and a support system to help them be successful.

Corn Productions prides itself on being a serious place for theatre that does not take itself too seriously. We have found that this method of working allows us to be accessible to performers, artists, and our audiences. Our ticket prices are low, our welcoming of new artists is high, and while we may be scrappy we can put on a damn good show.

If you donate $100, you will get a video of our company toasting to you with a shot of Malort.

If you donate $250, we will make you a small piece of Corn art, much like the art you can see on display decorating our lobby.

If you donate $500, one of our 42 seats will be dedicated to you with a small nameplate fixed to the seat.

NEW If you donate $1,500, you get the naming rights to one of our two bathrooms. Your name or the name of your choice gets placed on the door and in the bathrooom itself to remind everyone how much you love Corn! Two of these bathroom namings are up for grabs.

CLAIMED If you donate $2,500 (holy crap!), you will be awarded naming rights to our lobby. You can name this after yourself, someone you know, or just some weird/ funny name you want to make us display in golden letters across our lobby for all to see when they enter the theatre.
