Connor's Corner
Donation protected
I would like you all to meet Connor. Connor is my brother's only child and was a vibrant, healthy baby boy who would light up the room. Always smiling, always happy. Until late Saturday night, June 15, 2019. Connor had a 34+ minute seizure and was rushed to the local hospital and then transferred to Boston Children’s Hospital. Turns out that he has bacterial meningitis, and has now suffered several strokes and more seizures as a result of the serious infection. The horrendous strokes resulted in a substantial part of his left cerebellum being compromised, and he is still far from being out of the woods. Connor is being kept in a medical induced coma in an attempt to slow down or even prevent further neurological damage. His brain still has a great deal of swelling, as does the rest of him. The doctors say he will have hearing and vision loss, equilibrium is effected and he may never walk again. Yet this little man is laying in this bed, attached to all this equipment and still fighting with the strength of an army. Connor turned 9 months old at Boston Children's Hospital fighting for his life. And my brother had his first Father’s day wondering if his child will live.
His medical bills are going to be astronomical, and he will need a ton of medical assistive devices at home once he is stable enough to be discharged. He is going to have permanent brain damage and will require 24 hour supervision, Visiting Nurse/Rehab services, in home medical equipment, adaptive equipment, on and on and on.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your consideration and support.
