Comrade down!

A few recent posts on LinkedIn caught my attention. Reading between the lines, it was clear we have a member of our industry in need. After speaking with Howard Ronnie Hayward yesterday and introducing myself, I realized this guy needs a hand up and not a handout. After 31 years of driving OTR, he has hit a point in his career where he needs to come off the road yet still earn a living.

Howard wants to pivot into brokering freight but did not know where to start. After a few conversations within my network, I believe we have found him an opportunity to learn and earn. His knowledge of heavy haul / specialized will be a great asset to this freight agency while he secures an opportunity to build his book of business. Step 1 complete.

Step 2: Mr. Hayward has had some hard years recently. He has lost his father, sister, ex-wife and now his fiancée is dying from congestive heart failure. She is stage 3 and she has C.O.P.D. The mental and financial stress this family is under is immense. The savings are depleted, and the basic everyday bills are piling up. Let’s help bridge the financial gap for Howard and his family while he tends to his wife and learns a new way to earn.
