Living in India for 4 years after moving from the United States of America was valuable, as I understood what ‘ground reality’ really meant. I watched as some of the children there had torn sandals and ripped shirts.
In the state of Karnataka, India (where I lived), there are close to 24% of the people below poverty levels and there are only about 8-9% of the population who have access to the Internet.
I was gratefully a part of the 8-9%, although I’m taking a stand.
I might only be a sophomore, but it doesn’t stop me from helping a child of my age, who may have dreams just like me and a desire to achieve them, yet denied due to their unfavorable economic position.
It isn’t fair.
My initiative is to connect less fortunate students with tools such as laptops, to enhance their learning capabilities. I have already found a government school in Karnataka and have been working with them to implement my plan.
I am in need of economic support to execute this project. Help in the form of funding would be a blessing.
This is a project I’m willing to fight for and I'm determined to make it a success.
Technology should be a right for everyone and with your help, we could take a step towards it.
