ONE OF OUR OWN NEEDS US.

Tragedy has struck a huge member of our local cannabis community, and right now I’m asking everyone who considers themselves part of this community to come together.

Many of you know Jarred Burger. Our families have been close for over 25 years. Some of you may even be getting ready to harvest plants carrying his genetics any day now. His work, knowledge, and passion have reached more people in this community than he probably realizes.

Now, he and his family are facing something no parent should ever have to face.

His daughter was tragically taken from them in a hit-and-run accident.

There are simply no words for that kind of loss. And like most of us, they weren’t financially prepared to suddenly have to bury their child while trying to process unimaginable grief.

So I’m asking our cannabis community to dig deep.

If you’ve ever grown his genetics, learned something from him, shared a conversation with him, smoked with him, supported him, or simply believe that this community should take care of its own — this is the time to show it.

Let’s make sure this father and his family do not have to worry about how they’re going to pay to bury their daughter. And I’d like to see us go beyond that.

Funeral expenses are only part of what comes after a tragedy like this. Bills don’t stop. Rent and mortgages don’t stop. Utilities don’t stop. Groceries still have to be bought.

They need time to grieve.

They need time to hold each other.

They need time to begin figuring out how to live with a loss that no family should ever experience — without worrying about falling behind financially while they do it.

Whether you can give $5, $20, $100 or more, it matters. And if you can’t donate, please share this so it reaches someone who can.

We’ve called ourselves a community for years.

Now is one of those moments when we get to prove what that word really means.

Let’s surround this family with love. Let’s take one burden off their shoulders. Let’s show them that they aren’t walking through this alone.

Let’s take care of one of our own.

Please donate if you’re able, share this post, and keep this father, his family, and everyone who loved his daughter in your thoughts as they navigate the unimaginable.
