Community ~ is with great urgency that we ask all who are able to give, to support our dear friend, comadre, hermana, and healer.

A few days ago Pānquetzani, who many of you have met through her work as IndigiMama, through Matriz y Concha, IndigiEscuela, and her book tours for Thriving Postpartum — almost left this earthly plane.

While moving through the stops on her book tour, mothering, and tending to community — a heavy bleed landed her in the emergency room, where ER doctors found her hemoglobin was at a level 3 (normal is 12). They said it was a miracle she was walking and talking — that they had never seen someone in her state standing and conscious.

We know Pānquetzani is a fighter — she has been preparing herbs and tending to others since she was a child. And that strength and fire in her allowed her to push through touring, speaking, and teaching even though something felt off.

The challenge with having strong blood & a strong matriz — someone as strong as our hermana Pānquetzani can push past and tend to conditions that would have taken any of us out.

Once in the ER, she was administered 3 blood transfusions. Doctors called her a walking miracle because folks with a Hemoglobin count of 3 are either in a coma, or die quickly.

After 3 bags of blood — she came home anemic, exhausted, and with an enormous hospital bill. Since then she has continued to feel exhaustion, pain, and inflammation. Most recently, she lost all movement in her arms and returned to the hospital to find the transfusion port had become infected and clotted.

Luckily — friends and family were able to care for the children and support her with travel to and from the hospital.

Yet her journey towards wellness is a long road ahead.

We are living through difficult times for so many of us — and we ask you to give from your heart to keep our wonderful healer and womb-mate here for the long haul. Just as Pānquetzani has taught so many of us to pour into ourselves and others — we now have the opportunity to pour into her. To see her healthy and well — to send gratitude that she is still with us.

Pānquetzani will need three to six months of recovery, to heal from the infection, heal her blood to healthy iron levels, and recover movement in her arms -- during this time she will not be able to work. And she will need your help to move through the healing process and support her family.

This is a wake up call for all of us — our healers need tending too. Each of our health is precarious, yet it is our teachers who we look up to that we don't often look after.

Please support and donate what you can — and then share this call to others and invite them to support. As we band together and provide Pānquetzani with energy and space to focus on her health, she is able to stop, listen, and heal with her own body. She needs us now.

After holding together kids needs and schedules, a homestead, hundreds of clients, thousands of students, events, and a book tour -- we almost lost her! -- she deserves rest and healing support now .

My heart and body are commanding me to rest. As hard as this is- I must listen and learn.

To support me through this period of not bringing in revenue, and accessing the care I’ll need is a big ask. (Is it? Or is it that I’m socialized to push through alone?)

I have been cultivating plant medicine and healing others since the age of 4. Accepting that I need to sit down for a season and receive, brings up fear, uncertainty -- What about the folks who are depending on me? The students, and events?

Sometimes it takes reaching my limit to make radical asks: so that I’m here for the long term, so I am healed 100% like my 4 children deserve. Today I am deciding to turn off the giving to turn on the getting.

I humbly ask for your support as I go into cuarentena mode, building the fortitude and foundation of health to ease my way back to my children, my home, and myself -- with the community of care and support that I need to recover.

If I am to continue this work for our future generations, I need to work and teach from a healthy vessel. Now, I need deep respite…
