Hello everyone, my name is Alex Ramon. I'm a coordinator at Pan de Vida, a food pantry in the Little Village neighborhood. I created this GoFundMe on behalf of the Granados family. I believe that together we can make a difference in one's life. I want to thank everyone that will play a part in helping this amazing family overcome this difficult and painful time.

On the morning of January 24th at 4 a.m., one of our faithful, long-term volunteers, the Granados family, lost everything to a devastating house fire. Thankfully, they and their entire family are safe and accounted for. They are in current need of any assistance that can be provided as they will inevitably have to start from ground zero.

The Granados family is so hardworking and loving. They gave so much to the community by volunteering at our food pantries and countless others. In a matter of moments, their home — the place filled with memories, comfort, and safety — was destroyed by fire. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, but they lost nearly everything they own: clothing, furniture, personal belongings, and irreplaceable memories.

Right now, they are facing the overwhelming task of rebuilding their lives from the ground up. The funds raised will go directly toward immediate necessities such as temporary housing, clothing, food, and basic household items, as well as long-term recovery needs as they work to rebuild.

Currently, the family has spent the night at the hospital due to the husband inhaling a ton of fire smoke. He has also been battling heart problems and hasn’t been able to work as a result. Currently, Mom and sons carry most of the weight to make ends meet and cover daily costs.

Hola a todos, mi nombre es Alex Ramon. Soy coordinador en Pan de Vida, una despensa de alimentos ubicada en el vecindario de Little Village. He creado este GoFundMe en nombre de la familia Granados. Creo firmemente que juntos podemos marcar una diferencia en la vida de los demás. Quiero agradecer a todos los que formen parte de ayudar a esta increíble familia a superar este momento tan difícil y doloroso.

En la madrugada del 24 de enero, alrededor de las 4 a.m., una de nuestras voluntarias más fieles y de muchos años, la familia Granados, lo perdió todo a causa de un devastador incendio en su hogar. Afortunadamente, ellos y toda su familia están a salvo y bien. En este momento necesitan cualquier tipo de ayuda que se les pueda brindar, ya que inevitablemente tendrán que comenzar desde cero.

La familia Granados es muy trabajadora y amorosa. Han dado muchísimo a la comunidad a través de su servicio voluntario en nuestras despensas de alimentos y en muchas otras despensas. En cuestión de minutos, su hogar — un lugar lleno de recuerdos, comodidad y seguridad — fue destruido por el incendio. Gracias a Dios, todos lograron salir con vida, pero perdieron casi todo lo que poseían: ropa, muebles, pertenencias personales y recuerdos irremplazables.

Actualmente, enfrentan la abrumadora tarea de reconstruir sus vidas desde cero. Los fondos recaudados se destinarán directamente a cubrir necesidades inmediatas como vivienda temporal, ropa, alimentos y artículos básicos del hogar, así como necesidades a largo plazo mientras trabajan para salir adelante.

Actualmente, la familia pasó la noche en el hospital debido a que el esposo inhaló una gran cantidad de humo durante el incendio. Además, ha estado luchando contra problemas del corazón y como resultado, no ha podido trabajar. En este momento, la madre y los hijos son quienes cargan con la mayor parte de la responsabilidad para cubrir los gastos diarios y salir adelante.
