Clothes for the Kings
Donation protected
Today the home of my boss, business partner, and friend Tim King caught on fire. While emergency crews were able to react and contain the fire mostly to the basement of the home, a ton of possessions were lost and, at the very least, all of the electrical wiring and plumbing will need to be replaced. I hope and believe that home owner's insurance will help to cover most of the costs of repairing or replacing their home, but I still can't imagine being a husband and a father of two teenage daughters under such circumstances. Or maybe I think I can, at least a little bit, and that's why I'm aching for my friend this evening.
Lindsay and I took our daughters to the local art show tonight to see one of Piper Bea's drawings and while there saw one of Tim's daughters drawings too. Lily added a heart so we could send a photo to the Kings who couldn't attend because they were buying clothes that weren't completely doused in smoke. And my heart aches all the more.
You may not, likely do not, know the Kings. They are private, hard-working people whom I've never heard ask for anything...except hard work from their employees...and these days not asking means not getting. On their behalf, I am asking for you to consider donating just a few dollars so I can help Tim refill his daughter's closets with clothes.
I thank you and appreciate any little way you can help and, in spite of his pride (which I all too fully understand), Tim will too.
Eventually.
Do glad.
