Chrissy's Cancer Battle
Hello everyone!
Imagine living your whole life by the rules. Eating three meals a day, working out five days a week, and taking vitamins and minerals to maintain healthy nutrition. As the manager of a GNC (General Nutrition Center), this is how I have been living my life for a long time now. But on July 30, 2017 my whole world was changed.
After a week of side pain and trouble breathing I went to the emergency room. Like most people I googled my symptoms and thought I had everything under the sun. But really google side pain and shortness of breathe there are a million things it could be. After going through some testing, a CT scan, and an X-ray, the doctors came in and informed me that they believe I have cancer. I asked myself how could this be? I have done everything I was supposed to to be healthy and to live a long life. Yet at the age of 43 I have cancer. This is where My battle began.
After finding out that the doctors belive I have cancer they immediately rushed me to Kettering Hospital. This is when the doctors began finding clues to what kind of cancer I have. I have been through dozens of procedures and tests at this point I kind of feel like a lab rat. On August 4, 2017 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer that has spread to my lymph nodes and bones. I asked the Doctor puzzeled, how could this be? I have never smoked a day in my life. He informed me that sometimes it can be a genetic problem and no matter how healthy you are, cancer can find its way into your body. I am currently having my lungs drained every two days because of excess fluid build up. I start chemo today. They will be giving me the highest dose my body can take to stop and combat the cancer.
What am I asking for assistance with is funds to pay my monthly bills so I do not lose my house or car while I am unable to work. Unfortuntely, they say it may take months or years to get on disability. I don't even know if I have that long to live. Ontop of trying to pay monthly bills, I do not have health insurance. With my medical bills climbing everyday, I could use all the assistance I could get. Anything you have to offer would be helping me move in the right direction.
I want to thank you in advance for you contribution.
God bless,
Chrissy
