On September 29th, 2025, the 30th anniversary of his wedding, our family experienced the most devastating, painful loss conceivable. In a horrific accident, our community lost a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and a beloved mentor to many. In the aftermath of this nightmare, we are struggling to both understand and adjust to the new reality of our lives.
For those who knew Chris, they know what a vital part of so many lives he played. You could frequently find him volunteering his time to the youth of our community through 4H, assisting our neighbors, spending time with his family, or enjoying life in the mountains, open spaces, and the farm in our beautiful state he so dearly loved. We can say with confidence that almost everyone who knew our Dad has some story (or multiple!) of the way(s) he's helped our community, the lives he touched, the ripples of his life that stretch across space and time itself.
He gave to so many in such powerful ways: now, we're asking for help. Both of our parents lived on disability due to health complications. Faced with this tragedy and the financial strain that accompanies such an unexpected loss, we are asking for help with his memorial and the services that accompany it. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help ease the burden and give our Mom one less thing to carry.
Our Mom and Dad spent 37 years of their lives together, 30 of them married; this is the last thing we want her to worry about. As we process this loss, it would mean the world to help lighten the load for her as we adjust to life after losing such an incredible pillar of light, strength and love. In honor of our Dad, please hug the ones you love. Tell them how much you love them, again and again. It's will never be enough time.
