Charlie Fielding

We are raising money for our son, Charlie Fielding. At the age of just 18 months old, Charlie was left a paraplegic after suffering a bleed on his spinal cord caused by a rare birth defect called an Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM). Charlie spent the next 2 years rehabilitating through specialist private, physiotherapy treatment which is not currently available to us through the NHS. There has also been a large amount of equipment and adaptations which have needed to be funded privately. Just as we were seeing improvements in Charlie's strength and how he was adapting to life as a paraplegic, he was dealt a second devastating blow. Just days before his 4th birthday, after a spate of illnesses, he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Thankfully Charlie is now over a year out of Leukaemia treatment and doing well. This has meant we can refocus on his spinal cord injury and help continue to provide him with specialist physio and equipment which this fundraiser is helping to support
