Celebrating My 40th by Giving Back

Dear friends, family, and blessed donors,

My name is Jennifer Torres.

As I approach my 40th birthday this coming year, I’ve decided to do something a little different. Instead of a big party (and we all know I love birthday parties!), I want to dedicate this milestone to giving back. I want to take the focus off of me and place the celebration on something far greater—a wonderful church family in South Tampa that has given me so much spiritually, La Roca Tampa (The Rock, Tampa).

I grew up in church and was taught and poured into by some of the best here in Tampa Bay. I wouldn’t be who I am today without the amazing churches and leaders who believed in me and helped shape my walk with God. Life took its turns, and there were seasons when I felt lost for so long—but little did I know that one simple invite to a women’s conference from my cousin would change everything. That moment reignited my faith and connected me with a group of people I know will be in my corner for the next 40 years and beyond.

This church has been a beacon in my life in such a short time. It’s where I’ve grown spiritually, found a beautiful community, and seen God move in powerful ways—ways I’ve never experienced before. Now, as they look to expand their building to reach even more people in the Tampa Bay community, I feel called to help.

My birthday wish is simple: instead of gifts and parties, I’m asking for your help in raising, better yet in exceeding $2,000 to donate to this incredible church on my 40th birthday. This bilingual church is a cornerstone for so many in Tampa, and every dollar will help them continue spreading God’s love and hope.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for considering this. Let’s make this birthday not about me, but about giving glory to God and supporting a place that continues to pour into so many lives.
