Carolyn’s Fight With Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer

Hello, my name is Sean, and I’m reaching out with gratitude to anyone willing to read our story.

My wife, Carolyn, has been fighting an aggressive form of breast cancer since early 2023. The standard treatment options available for her cancer type in Canada offered very low chances of success, so we searched for alternatives—and found a clinic in Arizona whose approach gave us hope.
Carolyn began treatment there in June 2023, where she received an integrative, personalized approach. Within just three months, we saw remarkable improvements and almost clear scans. Unfortunately, we quickly ran out of money and had to return to Canada. For the next year and a half, we flew from Toronto to Phoenix every two weeks for several days of treatment—each trip costing between $7,000 and $10,000. We stretched every dollar, often having to schedule appointments farther apart than recommended, sometimes 30 days between visits. But the gaps allowed the cancer to grow and adapt.
After exhausting every physical and financial option—and despite myself working seven days a week to keep up with her treatment and household bills—we were forced earlier this year to return to conventional treatment in Canada. We were met with an incredible team of doctors and nurses who cared deeply for Carolyn. However, after three months of radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy, the treatments failed, and her cancer continued to spread—to her spine, other bones, and liver. She now relies on a walker due to compression fractures in multiple vertebrae.
With her health rapidly declining, we made the difficult and urgent decision to leave immediately and return to Arizona for full-time treatment before losing any more ground. The only way we were able to do this was by borrowing the last funds I could scrape together. She has now been back for 3 months—and once again, we’re seeing significant improvements and renewed hope.
But we’re running out of time and money. By early January, we expect our funds to be completely exhausted. Losing access to this treatment would mean losing all the progress Carolyn has fought so hard for and would allow for the disease to over take her quickly. This is our last chance and the reason we’re reaching out for help now.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for reading, sharing, and supporting in any way you can.
—Sean
